I have always loved the visual medium of the concert flyer. Growing up in the DIY punk scene of the late 90's and early 2000's before social media was so present, concert flyers posted on walls and telephone poles would be the way we learned about local shows. The flyers were more than just information about who, what, when, and where, however - they were a window into the feeling of the musical experience yet to happen.
My early days of flyer creation involved sharpie marker and cut paper. The process of cutting and glueing paper together was fun and therapeutic to me. Later along I discovered photoshop and was able to create more intricate and visually stunning collages in the digital realm. Currently I use a free, online version of Photoshop called Photopea which I recommend to everyone.
